Violence, drama and dark humor – we couldn’t have expected anything less from a collaboration between Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa. And if you thought Fast and Furious was over the top, wait until you see the helicopter scene in The Wrecking Crew, straight out of Vin Diesel’s franchise. Of course, we loved Fast and Furious, and we love The Wrecking Crew, which doesn’t hold back when it comes to Hawaii’s roads.

Prime Video’s new movie : The Wrecking Crew has just come out and, to say the least, it’s a blast (easy pun). That said, what else do you expect from a collaboration between Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa if not fights, humor, fights and more fights. In a relationship where problems are settled with punches, there were bound to be a lot of blows landed on one side or the other. But in all this battle between the Yakuza, the Syndicate and our two favorite stars, we easily let ourselves get swept up in a family story that isn’t even ours.

Jason Momoa more than ever

Among all the roles he’s played, I don’t know if this isn’t the one I had the most fun watching him in. Of course, a Momoa character without dark or cynical humor wouldn’t really be him, but in The Wrecking Crew he pushes it to the max, and that’s what we love. Yet despite his sharp comebacks and his annoying habit of always hitting people, we also realize he’s just a wounded, lonely man for whom finding his ‘ohana again is essential.

Dave Bautista: a new role done brilliantly

In this character, we see a slightly more serious Dave Bautista. A married and settled Navy SEAL, he leads a quiet life before his brother returns to Hawaii to investigate their father’s death. It’s a character that’s a bit different from the one we saw in Guardians of the Galaxy, but similar to the one we discovered in The Killer’s Game.

The collaboration between these two giants of the film industry gives us a new movie full of twists and turns that whisks us away to Hawaii and drops us into a very complicated case. The Wrecking Crew talks about family, tradition but also corruption, forgiveness and resilience. The movie is available on Prime Video, and if you haven’t watched it yet, you really should.

With a heart that beats to the rhythm of distant lands, Ataraxia’s passion for travel is nothing short of ferocious. She is drawn to the unusual, the offbeat, the places where most people don’t think to go. Whether it’s a hidden alley in a foreign city or a forgotten village nestled in the mountains, she finds beauty and meaning in every corner of the world.
