“Venom: The Last Dance” : A Bittersweet Farewell or Just the Beginning?

2 mins read

Venom: The Last Dance has just hit our theaters, and it’s safe to say we’ve been eagerly waiting for it.

This is the third installment in the adventures of Eddie and Venom, and it promises to be more action-packed than ever. Remember Let There Be Carnage? We almost thought that was the end of our favorite anti-heroes. Yet here they are again, ready to take us on another journey. But for how long? The trailer hints at a possible end to the Venom/Eddie partnership, and the title of this third film is equally ominous: The Last Dance. Could this really be Eddie and Venom’s final adventure? We sure hope not! Originally, the Venom series was planned as a trilogy. However, given its success at the box office, there’s hope it could continue. And let’s not forget that Venom is originally a character from the Spider-Man universe, so he could potentially return in future Spider-Man films.

For now, though, the trailer sets us up for an emotional farewell. But Eddie and Venom haven’t lost their sharp wit or signature humor. And who wouldn’t want to see Venom transform into a horse?

Mixed Reviews

While the team at Asteria is excited to see the comic duo back in action, not everyone feels the same way. If you’re wondering whether you should go see it in theaters, the answer is: it’s up to you! The negative reviews mainly come from two types of viewers: those who didn’t enjoy the previous films, and those who dislike changes in the comic universe and compare Venom to unrelated characters like Madame Web. On the other hand, fans who liked Venom 2 generally have high praise for this third movie. If you enjoyed the previous film featuring the symbiote, chances are you’ll love this one too.

This movie promises to be even more intriguing than the previous ones, as it not only explores Eddie and Venom’s relationship but also sheds more light on Venom’s past and origins—valuable information for those who haven’t read the comics and want to understand more about this mysterious symbiote.

Now available in theaters, Venom: The Last Dance is likely to capture your heart. And even if this really is Venom and Eddie’s last dance, we can always hope for a surprise return, just as only Marvel can deliver. One thing’s for sure: Tom Hardy once again delivers a flawless performance, skillfully portraying the complexities of keeping Venom within him.

To get you even more excited, here’s a sneak peek of an unexpected scene: Venom dances with Mrs. Chen! Yes, a sweet little moment for everyone’s favorite anti-hero. Though Venom isn’t exactly a villain anymore, he’ll still be eating a few heads in this final film.

Warning : Major Spoiler Alert!

Although Venom is part of the Marvel universe, where a death doesn’t necessarily mean the end, the symbiote leaves Eddie at the end of this film, promising that they’ll meet again. But as hinted earlier, given Venom’s popularity, it’s very possible we’ll see him again—whether in a Venom 4 or as a villain in the Spider-Man universe. Remember in No Way Home, when a piece of the symbiote was left behind after Eddie was sent back? This could be what brings Venom back, and who knows, maybe even back to Eddie.

In a recent interview, Tom Hardy expressed openness to reprising the role, whether in the Venom universe or elsewhere, leaving fans questioning if this truly is the end for Venom.

So, are you for or against a showdown between Tom Hardy and Tom Holland?
