We’ve already talked about Season 1, and if you’ve read our article, you probably know this already: Bandidos Season 2 is now available on Netflix. We didn’t plan to write an article about it, but the ending of this season is so unique that we couldn’t overlook it. Be warned, if you haven’t seen the end yet, you might be in for a surprise.

The Bandidos in Mourning: The Death of Octavio

If you haven’t been following closely Bandidos, one of the key characters in the treasure-hunting team is Octavio. Tall, muscular, and a former military man, he’s the muscle of the group. Quickly, a romance blossoms between him and Inès, the police officer in the team. Octavio even grows very close to Inès’ son, Alex. Unfortunately, the search for the “Tear of Fire” proves to be more dangerous than expected, thanks to Regina, Lily’s sister. To save Alex, Octavio takes risks that ultimately cost him his life.

Summary of Season 2: The Tear of Fire

If you watched Season 1, you’ll recall that the entire season revolves around searching for a Mayan treasure. Even though we like Lily a lot, we don’t actually know much about her. Well, that’s exactly what Season 2 changes. After the first operation where Miguel and Lily staged Lily’s death, everyone goes off to live their lives with their share of the treasure. However, when Lily suddenly receives a message, she leaves Miguel, and at the same time, the entire Bandidos team has their money stolen— even Octavio, who was storing cash in his bunker.

Lily is revealed to be Carlota. She embarks on a mission to rescue her ex, Léo, who has been captured by Regina, who turns out to be Lily’s— or rather, Carlota’s— sister. Regina demands a huge sum of money from Lily and admits that she’s also responsible for stealing the Bandidos’ money. Lily has no choice but to reunite the Bandidos and set out on another treasure hunt for the Tear of Fire.

The Truth About Carlota / Lily’s Father

In this season, we dive into Lily’s childhood and her relationship with Regina. We also discover that Regina and Lily actually share the same father. Lily, accused of his murder, is pursued by Regina because their father’s fortune has disappeared. Regina accuses Lily of stealing all the money. In reality, by the end of Season 2, we learn that it’s Regina who had poisoned their father over the years. When he died, a furious rage overtook her because the fortune had vanished. Carlota later explains that when she was a child, their father told her she was Regina’s sister. Seeing that Regina would be consumed by jealousy, he never revealed the truth to her. Unfortunately, Lily didn’t steal from their father, and the fortune is still nowhere to be found.

A Potential Season 3 for Bandidos

Even though, just like in Season 1, the treasure hunt is concluded, and everyone seems to be doing well, the ending of Season 2 leaves room for a continuation. Indeed, Lily could embark on another quest, having realized that the brooch her father left her is the clue to finding the family fortune. Meanwhile, Miguel sets off in search of another treasure with his father. So it’s easy to imagine a follow-up for Bandidos. Netflix has not confirmed anything yet but hasn’t canceled it either.

Through its second season, Bandidos gives us clear answers about Lily’s life and takes us on yet another treasure hunt we can’t get enough of. We’re eagerly awaiting Season 3, but in the meantime, you can always watch Season 2 of Bandidos if you haven’t already. You can also read our first article about Bandidos here.
