Netflix has just released this series, and all I can say is that it’s absolutely hilarious. Bienvenidos a la Familia is a dark comedy series that definitely deserves a spot on your watchlist. To be honest, we loved it so much that we watched it in one day—it was too good to stop. It’s a rather simple show, but it will make you feel good and bring the positive energy you’ve been missing (especially if, like me, you’re bedridden and sick…).
Another Big Hit for Netflix
Netflix regularly releases absolutely delightful series, and this one is no exception. Bienvenidos a la Familia will make even the toughest of you smile, with humor, twists, dark comedy, and clever plans. You’re sure to have a good time. Unfortunately, it’s short, so it won’t keep you entertained for months like La Reina del Flow. However, we sincerely hope they decide to extend it for a second season.
Bienvenidos a la Familia: The Revenge of Two Abandoned Women
One is the daughter, and the other is the wife—they both hate each other, but in order to take revenge on the father and husband, they decide to team up. However, this wasn’t the case at first.
Christina was living a peaceful life with her three children in her apartment when a cartel leader shows up with his goons and gives them only 5 minutes to pack and leave. She then decides to go to her father’s house, with whom she had cut ties, to ask for help regarding the apartment (knowing full well that he’s the cause of her problem). But when she arrives, during a heated discussion, her father collapses on the floor from a heart attack. When Christina discovers that neither she nor her father’s wife, Luciana, are in the will, they decide to delay announcing his death in order to find a solution to their problem. Now, united, their only goal is to resolve the issue of the will. However, things get more complicated than expected when they have a dead body on their hands, soon to be two, a nosy neighbor, a cop on their tail, and four kids in the mix.
A Beautiful Moral Lesson in Bienvenidos a la Familia
Spoiler alert—let’s talk about the ending of the series in 3, 2, 1… Now.
What a sweet revenge for the cuckolded wife and the abandoned daughter, who manage to get all the fortune. When we see that even Christina’s brother doesn’t get his share after everything he’s done, we rejoice. Because yes, bad behavior can’t go unpunished, even in Guam. Moreover, what a beautiful lesson about family, as even after everything is settled, they decide to stay in touch and live together. Bienvenidos a la Familia also teaches us that by being influenced by others, we can completely misunderstand a person. Before they are forced to help each other in the adventure, they learn to get to know each other and eventually love one another. Absurd from start to finish, Bienvenidos a la Familia is filled with humor and lightness that will quickly win you over.
